I have always loved music and was blessed to be exposed to music from a young age, singing in church choirs
playing in bands and orchestras. I play an ever-growing variety of instruments currently including: piano, clarinet, accordion, violin, recorder, organ, voice, cello, flute, harmonica and various percussion pieces. Yes! Music is my passion! Besides music, I'm also known by my students as a pet lover and fish breeder!
I have a Bachelor's degree in
Music with a minor in Piano Pedagogy and a certificate in music composition.
I am in the process of studying for a Masters degree in Music Education from
Boston University and my students can never guess what new tools I'll have discovered to share with them at their lessons!
With musical studies include: Music Theory, Pedagogical Studies, Aural
Skills, Music Appreciation, Music Composition, Ear Training, Sight-Singing,
Sight-Reading, Gregorian Chant, Applied Piano Lessons, Applied Violin Lessons,
Applied Clarinet Lessons, Music History, Conducting, Ensemble/Concert Band/Orchestra.
I have received awards for performances on
clarinet, violin and piano, have played at the Summer Strings Institute
hosted by the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Washington D.C. and at
Jones Hall as a member of the Gulf Coast Concert Band. I'm also a member of numerous music associations including MTNA, NFMC, and TMTA.
